Frequently Asked Questions...

Our students have a broad range of questions regarding safety, insurance, what to wear. We've prepared a brief list of frequently asked questions to help alleviate some of the basic information necessary to prepare:

Will I be racing?
No. Our emphasis is on learning the needed skills first and it's not just going fast. The Teen Car Control Clinic builds your individual experience from the foundation up in a carefully orchestrated manner and using proven methods to improve your driving skill. It's always under the careful supervision of our instruction staff. Often there will always be someone in the car with you and if not you will have direct communication with your instructor via two way radio.

Do I need an exotic performance car?
Not at all! Most of our students have everyday cars and you will see the usual Hondas, Fords and of course some exotics. You will learn the limits of your skill level, your car and invaluable driving techniques that very well may save your life.

How much driving time do I get?
We do a good job of following schedules. Before each session there is a classroom session and a de-briefing after each. Typically each student will get about two and three hours of seat time and that's plenty. If the schedule permits, our Instructors will take students and parents onto the track in their cars after the lunch break for a bit of added fun.

Accommodation
We will provide the contact information for you once we receive your application.

Is this racing?
No. Learning is at your individual pace. The first objective is to learn the 'line' on the track and for you to gain experience as you learn the limits of both yourself and your car. Your ProControl, LLC Instructor will tell you when you can pass, what you can do and suggestions on how to do it.  No one keeps score or times you.

Is it safe?
There is definitely an element of risk and danger, safety is our prime objective. This isn't a race.  Unless you already have track experience, you won't even get on the track without a ProControl, LLC Instructor.  Every participant signs a waiver which describes the dangerous nature of this activity.

How fast will I go?
The selected tracks  s filled with turns, elevations and some straightaway sections which are ideal for learning. Your average speed is probably under 80 mph. fun little turns.  The emphasis is on driving skills and not just going fast.

Am I going to wear out my car?
if your vehicle is properly maintained you shouldn't expect any unusual wear and tear. You will likely notice some additional tire tread and brake wear.  Therefore, please make sure that your tires and brakes are in excellent repair.

Can I bring spectators?
Your guests are welcome. The only thing to caution you about spectators is that you will be very busy between class time and track times. Because if this, it's advisable to tell your guests they need to take care f themselves.
