Davy Jones is the quintessential American racer and businessman. For 18 years, he earned a well deserved reputation for stellar driving performances in US and international motorsports. Now a respected entrepreneur, Davy takes great pride in creating and developing racing-themed ventures that keep him close to his passion for motorsports and his lifetime roots in cars and racing.

Born in Chicago, Jones, 42, honed his natural abilities at an early age racing karts at the family home in upstate New York. At 19, he finished 3rd in Britain’s Formula-3 Championship and made such a notable impression that he was later selected to drive for the BMW IMSA-GTP team. This led to Davy’s highly successful association with Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR) and Jaguar Cars― an incredible partnership that would result in 12 GTP wins and 60 top-10 finishes in 73 starts. From 1990 to 1994, Jones was invited to compete each year in the renowned All-Star International Race of Champions Series (IROC).

In 1996, driving a Joest Porsche with teammates Manuel Reuter of Germany and Alexander Wurz of Austria, Davy Jones became one of only seven Americans to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This victory at Le Mans is one of his proudest achievements. Driving for Galles Racing at the 1996 Indianapolis 500, Davy placed 2
nd in the third closest finish in Indy 500 history.

With 6 overall starts at Indy, his tremendous achievements in IMSA, and the victory at Le Mans, Jones had made his permanent mark in US motorsports history. Over the years, Davy has been selected to represent some of the highest caliber automotive and racing manufacturers: BMW (McLaren), Jaguar Cars (TWR), Ford (Jasper Motorsports), General Motors, Porsche (Joest International), Mercedes-Benz (Galles), and Toyota. On television, Davy has worked professionally covering Le Mans and select American race events as a commentator for Speedvision (Speed TV). In addition to his driving career, Jones launched his entrepreneurial career with one of the first ever European-style karting enterprises in the US. He formed Davy Jones’ KartZone in Houston as a state-of-the-art indoor Karting and Conference Center. To expand his business interests, Davy relocated to Lake Tahoe and now jointly operates ProControl, LLC Driving Academy at the Reno-Fernley Raceway.

A principal in the consultancy, Fast One Consulting, Davy advises on motorsports development projects such as race track design. He coaches young drivers and also hosts auto manufacturer events. Popular in the racing community, Davy Jones is an outstanding communicator, motivator, and presenter. He continues to drive his businesses with the same confidence and determination that made him a proven winner in racing circles around the world.
